"Who Is in My Nativity Scene?"
Nativity scenes often include a fascinating variety of figures beyond Mary, Joseph, and the Christ Child. But who are these individuals, and why are they there?
In this engaging seminar, Father Johann Roten explores the history, symbolism, and spiritual significance of the many unique figures traditionally represented in nativity scenes. Discover how each character contributes to a richer understanding of the mystery of the Incarnation and the Christmas story.
This presentation expands upon the highly acclaimed talk Father Roten delivered at the 2025 Friends of the Creche Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
Father Roten is a founding member of Friends of the Creche and Professor Emeritus at the University of Dayton, internationally recognized for his scholarship on Marian studies, Christian art, and the traditions of the Nativity.

These Online Nativity Seminars are free and open to everyone. You do not need to be a Friends of the Creche member to attend. If you have friends or family who enjoy nativity scenes, we encourage you to invite them to join us!
